My trans-seasonal childrenswear collection focuses on the serious global crisis that is coral reef destruction, and the warming of our oceans.
I aim to raise awareness of this climate issue, with vibrant, graphic prints that contain elements of texture, to showcase the thriving coral.
Within my print collection I have combined traditional screen printing methods such as flock, puff, metallic binder and foiling in order to create interactive prints suited to the childrenswear market.
In order to create dimensional interest within my digital designs, I work into them using hand craft techniques such as needle punching, sequin embroidery, vinyl transfers and crochet.
The printed coats contrast with the soft, flowing dresses, which are in a faded colour palette to imitate the shades of bleached coral. The pale colours have been achieved by natural dyeing using traditional Shibori methods.
