About Exposed Designers

Exposed Designers is an online community of new & upcoming textile designers, that showcases a variety of design work globally, enabling designers to connect, share and inspire.

Exposed Designers was founded in 2016 by textile designer, Steph Reid, whilst studying Textile Design at DJCAD, Dundee University. After graduating with a 1st Class Honours degree, she now works for a high-end furnishing fabric company based in London and continues to develop and expand the Exposed Designers community.

"As a former textile student, I was concerned about the transition from education to industry, it is difficult to know where to start, but I learnt that having an online presence is very valuable and it can often be surprising how powerful tools like Instagram can be. It’s so important to connect with people within the industry and utilising platforms such as Instagram can really assist in getting your foot in the door. With online use rapidly growing and more people turning to online shopping & browsing I felt there was a need for a platform where students and new graduates can find inspiration, make connections with potential employers and share their work with the world in one collective place".
