For my honours project, I have taken memories of happy times spent with my grandmother, inspired by her 1950’s furniture, Willow Pattern China, jewellery and photographs; all of which evoke poignant emotions for me. I have then created a 3D body of work, that celebrates these memories and feelings and produced a textural, tactile and visually exciting collection. My collection which includes rugs, wall-hangings, mirrors and cotton prints, have all been developed from my initial drawing work. I feel privileged to make this collection. “Dorothy’s Life in Pattern” is dedicated to her memory.
