Since graduating with a First-Class degree in textiles last year, I have been continuing my final collection as an artist in residence.
Looking back at my FMP, I have returned to looking at what plants have been growing in my garden, in Kent – the Garden of England – to develop a new collection of prints. My last collection was autobiographical in the sense that it represented different areas of my life, whether it was home and home comforts, or adventures elsewhere. This year I have found I am drawn to tulips and bluebells, which are often wonderful signs that Spring has sprung and new beginnings are afoot. With this as my inspiration for my prints this year, my 2021 collection symbolises the new and exciting times ahead for me, as I begin my training to become a textile teacher.
